I agree about the primary focus being a war game. I'm not so sure workshops and caravans are 'risk free' at least once the player is in a faction. WebBannerlord is absolutely worth it in 2024. I obviously can't use any mods but, from what I hear, almost all my gripes with the game can be easily solved via mods. But even then, those gripes aren't too big of a deal minus the game breaking update we had a while back.
